BURBANK, CA -(RYM)- If you are anything like the 60% of American adults that watch animation, then this next sentence will make you very happy. The Proud Family is returning to the small screen both Louder and Prouder and I am here for it. In this timely re-boot, the central character, Penny Proud, and her wild family are at it again but with an upgrade of new challenges and new characters that will not disappoint. The current characters include her parents: Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and grandmother Suga Mama (and her dog Puff!). The die hard fans (including myself) know that the "The Proud Family" would not be complete without Penny's loyal crew Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez and Zoey Howzer, back on board.

VO cast members who reprise their roles from the original series are: Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama, Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer, Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez, Carlos Mencia as Felix Boulevardez, Maria Canals-Barrera as Sunset Boulevardez and Alvaro Gutierrez as Papi. From behind the Story boards and vocal booths is the team that develop and produce this classic project, and they are: executive-producer, Bruce W. Smith ("The Princess and the Frog") and Ralph Farquhar ("Moesha"), both of whom led the original series. Calvin Brown, Jr. ("Moesha") is co-executive producer, Jan Hirota ("Big Hero 6 The Series") is producer, and Eastwood Wong ("Carmen Sandiego") is art director. (Credit: Disney+)

Originally airing on the Disney channel in 2001, all seasons of "The Proud Family," are still a must see for kids and adults alike. People that tune in can expect dynamic characters, multilayered humor, and inclusive messages and stories that will resonate with most folks! It is available NOW on Disney+. (Credit: Disney+)
