LOS ANGELES, CA -(RYM)- When you consider Graffiti, most people picture a young person that has “tagged” an overpass, or a boarded building downtown.  Though that may be true, since prehistoric times people have been creating their version of graffiti using all kinds of surfaces like wood and stone to paint symbols of victories, battles, feelings, thoughts, politics, and poetry.  Before the term graffiti arrived, we referred to it as street and urban art and before that, it can be traced to the Italian word graffito or the Greek word “graphein” meaning to scratch or write.

The Street Art Alive exhibit located in DTLA is an experience that explores the history, the originators, movements, techniques and styles that explore self expression in an undefined and historical way for the visitor to become fully immersed and engaged in the culture.  Produced by Grande Experiences and Magic Box for New Digital Art Gallery, this installation of Graffiti style art was approved and endorsed by over 200 street artists from all over the world.  The visitor will take a journey through the streets and alleyways of NYC, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Melbourne and London for interactive pieces, Visitors can also enjoy pizzas from Pi^L.A.--LA's pan pizza by Chef Fred Eric of Fred62, the choice food partner for THE LUME Los Angeles.

The four concentrations within the installation are REJUVENATION, VIBRANCY, FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE and FRESH TAKE ON HISTORY. With over 20 artists within each focused concentration, it's irrelevant whether you're familiar with the names or not, because your senses will be drawn into their STREET ART stories and enamored with the rawness and rare skill set that deserves the attention finally being afforded to their rendition of GRAFFITI!
