Recording Academy® and MusiCares® Expand Los Angeles Wildfire Relief Efforts with New Partnerships

Los Angeles, California (January 30, 2025)- The Recording Academy® and MusiCares® are strengthening their commitment to wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles by partnering with Direct Relief, the California Community Foundation, and the Pasadena Community Foundation. This collaborative initiative aims to provide comprehensive support to music professionals and the broader Los Angeles community affected by the recent devastating wildfires.

The Recording Academy and MusiCares have been actively involved in wildfire relief efforts since the crisis began, launching the MusiCares Fire Relief program to provide aid to music people impacted by the fires. Now, with the addition of these new partners, they are expanding their reach to address the diverse needs of the wider community.

"We are proud to partner with these incredible organizations to maximize our impact and aid those affected by this crisis," said Recording Academy and MusiCares CEO Harvey Mason jr. "Together, we will harness the power of music and philanthropy to help rebuild and uplift Los Angeles and its people."

Direct Relief, a humanitarian organization, has been providing essential medical supplies, protective gear, and financial assistance to frontline responders and community health centers. The California Community Foundation (CCF) has awarded over $15 million to local nonprofits supporting wildfire victims, focusing on equitable aid distribution. The Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF) has established the Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund, raising over $8 million to assist those impacted by the Eaton Fire in Altadena and Pasadena.

During the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards® telecast on Sunday, February 2nd, viewers and attendees will be encouraged to donate to support this collaborative relief effort. All funds raised from the telecast will be used to bolster the resources of these partner organizations, ensuring that both music professionals and the broader Los Angeles community receive the support they need to recover and rebuild.
