Morgan Wallen's Court Date Delayed
Los Angeles, California (August 12, 2024)- Country music superstar Morgan Wallen will have to wait a bit longer to face charges related to a chair-throwing incident. The singer's court date, initially scheduled for August 15th, has been postponed to December 12th.
The decision comes after a request for a continuance was granted by the judge overseeing the case. Wallen, currently in the midst of his European tour, faces three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. The charges stem from an April incident where a chair allegedly thrown by the singer from the rooftop of Eric Church's Nashville bar landed near two police officers.
Wallen's attorney, Worrick Robinson, has indicated that the case is complex and requires additional time for gathering evidence and potentially subpoenaing witnesses. The singer himself is expected to be present at the December court hearing.
In a statement released shortly after the incident, Wallen expressed remorse for his actions, stating, "I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility. I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe." The singer has maintained his tour schedule despite the ongoing legal matter.
As the case progresses, fans and the public alike will be watching closely to see how the legal proceedings unfold.
