Manhattan West Heats Up with Free Dance Battles

Los Angeles, California (August 17, 2024)- Manhattan West, the vibrant hub of food, culture, and commerce, is set to ignite the city with a sizzling lineup of free outdoor dance battles. In partnership with Works & Process, the dynamic series, "Gather Round," returns, celebrating the spirit of competition and the diverse world of street and club dance. Inspired by the 2024 Paris Olympics and the groundbreaking inclusion of breaking as an Olympic sport, the series will take place every Wednesday in September from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Manhattan West Plaza.
Get ready to witness the electrifying energy of breaking, the flamboyant artistry of ballroom, the expressive power of waacking, and the rhythmic virtuosity of beatboxing. Each week will feature a different dance style, with top-tier performers battling it out for glory and prizes.
Behind The Groove: CeleBreak Outside! kicks off the series on September 4th, featuring legendary breakdancers Kwikstep and Rokafella. The following week, on September 11th, the Gather Round Kiki Ball will showcase the dazzling world of ballroom culture, complete with runway, face, and vogue categories. On September 18th, the Fabulous Waacking Festival Fall Edition with Princess Lockerooo will bring the glitz and glamour of disco-era dance to the plaza. And finally, on September 25th, the Manhattan West Beatbox Battle will showcase the vocal talents of NYC’s top beatboxers.
