Levitt Pavilion LA Talks Concert Series & National Levitt Tour

Vanessa Khan

LOS ANGELES, CA -(RYM)- As the weather gets closer to summer, festivals and concerts are reopening to the public. Organizations are setting the stage for another successful year & Levitt Pavilion is no different. As they are on the cusp of the beginning of their upcoming concert summer series coming to multiple locations across the United States. This morning at the Consolado de Mexico en Los Angeles, organizers from the Levitt Pavilion in Los Angeles spoke to the press about their local series as well as the national tours.

Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles is part of 40 communities across the country and is a nationally recognized organization.

During today's press conference, the Levitt Pavilion non-profit organization members spoke to the press about the upcoming series. Organizer & Executive Director, Allegra Padilla addressed the room speaking about the future in today’s present with the upcoming series:

Being able to do a live-stream of our series, has opened up the way for more accessibility, our audience is not just local, but international. … Drag coming to the stage for the first time, it is important in this climate to be able to showcase everyone.
— Allegra Padilla

As the artists gear up for the series some in attendance during the conference spoke with regard to multiple points of interest and concern. A question asked by RYM during the conference was in reference to the national tour, organizer Sharon Yazowski addressed the question stating:

In regard to the national tour, we see it is currently going to hit 6 cities, will be seeing more dates added to this year’s tour? Additionally, with La Santa Cecilia taking center stage are we going to see other artists who are on the Los Angeles stage accompanying the group?

Those venues in major metropolitan areas where we have permanent stages. In the future with help from our sponsors we are hoping to expand in the years to come. … With regard to the Line-Up, La Santa Cecilia was specially selected to headline for this year. There have been many artists seen in the Los Angeles Stage that have gone on to be seen on Levitt Stages across the country.
— Sharon Yazowski

Latin Artist, Beatriz Solis spoke with RYM as she is set to perform on the Levitt Stage this September 3rd to close out the series.

Hi Ms. Solis Thank you for taking the time to speak with us. We have seen so many iconic names on the Levitt Pavilion stages over the years, so tell me how do you feel to be a part of this huge event?

I feel like in the city of Los Angeles is where we see all the Latin Communities identify themselves, so I feel really lucky to be included in this big family event. To be able to perform the songs that I love, and the people love. ... something really sticks out to me as the family aspect of it, I think it is very important sometimes you know when we are parents It’s hard to go out into the night-life it’s hard to do things because of all the responsibility that comes with it especially with the safety of our kids. ... I truly believe that as family comes together you know you’re going to be able to show your kids where your roots are from. I love that this event gives me the opportunity to do all of that, and I will also be bringing my kids. I want them to see what are the communities are about. I have been so lucky to have so much involvement when it comes down to my roots, and with my kids being born in the U.S. their life is so much more different than mine, it’s why bringing them to events like these is so important to me.
— Beatriz Solis // Latin Singer

Programmer [Latin Niche], and festival organizer, Luis Polanco spoke to RYM about the upcoming series, and keeping the latin
roots so deep in Los Angeles within the series itself.

I have been working with the organization for the last 10 years doing 1-2 events per year, and this year we had the opportunity to be able to coordinate half of the series with latin artists. MacArthur Park has been a very strong core for the latino community, and being able to bring them all together in this series is what makes it all worth it. It is very important to keep the line of previous festivals within the guidelines of those who reside in this community.
— Luis Polanco // Levitt Pavillion Programmer, and organizer.
