Canela Media Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Star-Studded 'Orgullo Latino'
Los Angeles, California (September 21, 2024)- Canela Media, a leading multicultural media company and technology innovator, announced today the details of its annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, 'Orgullo Latino.' From September 15th to October 15th, Canela.TV, the company's free streaming app, will showcase the best of Latin talent, athletes, and artists across its content verticals.
Featuring a stellar lineup of Hispanic stars, 'Orgullo Latino' 2024 will honor Latinos who have made significant contributions to our culture over the years, paving the way for today's artists and inspiring future success stories.

The star-studded 'Orgullo Latino' celebration will include a collection of original films co-produced by Canela.TV and Cinelatino, starting with 'Amor a Fuego Lento' starring Danna García and Osvaldo de León; exclusive interviews with Ana Bárbara and Jaime Camil on '¡Ponle Canela!'; Isaac Alarcón and Óscar D'León on 'Canela News'; Javier Zanetti and Carlos 'El Pibe' Valderrama on 'Historias de Leyendas'; and the return of the original series 'Secretos de Villanas' on October 10th with its third season, featuring six iconic telenovela villains, including new cast member Catherine Siachoque, who joins telenovela stars Laura Zapata, Cynthia Klitbo, Sabine Moussier, Aylín Mujica, and Gabriela Spanic.
Canela.TV's original film collection for 'Orgullo Latino' will highlight co-productions with Cinelatino, such as 'Cazadoras de Millonarios,' starring Alicia Machado, Sherlyn, Verónica Montes, Isabel Burr, Pedro Moreno, and Christian Vázquez; 'Mi Perfecto Ex' with Marjorie de Sousa and Mark Tacher; and the recent release 'Amor a Fuego Lento' with Danna García, Osvaldo de León, and Isaura Espinoza. Other films include Hollywood hits and Mexican cinema classics like 'Una Vida Mejor,' starring Demián Bichir, and the comedy 'Perfectos Desconocidos,' featuring Cecilia Suárez and Bruno Bichir.
Canela.TV's 'Cine de Oro' collection, which pays homage to the greatest actors of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and the lasting impact of their films on Latin culture, will feature some of the best films by legendary actors during 'Orgullo Latino,' such as 'La Devoradora' by María Félix; 'La Selva de Fuego' by Dolores del Río; and 'Cuidado con el Amor' by Pedro Infante, among many others. Additionally, Canela.TV will present reinterpreted posters from the 'Cine de Oro' collection, created by Mexican artists Lourdes Villagómez, Día Pacheco, and Ale de la Torre, highlighting the influence and multi-generational reach of these films in Latin culture.
Canela.TV's popular daily entertainment news program, '¡Ponle Canela!', will feature exclusive interviews with celebrities for 'Orgullo Latino,' including Mexican actor and singer Jaime Camil, Peruvian-Mexican singer Tania Libertad, and Mexican singer-songwriter Ana Bárbara. Furthermore, Canela News will include interviews with Mexican writer and journalist Andrea González, Mexican astronaut José Hernández, Mexican San Francisco 49ers player Isaac Alarcón, and Venezuelan singer-songwriter Oscar D'León, among others.
Canela Kids will premiere new episodes of '¡Hola Romi!', where children can have fun while learning Spanish and English words. Upcoming episodes will feature a special celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. More content for kids includes Canela.TV's original animated series, 'SúperEllas,' where best friends Nelly and Lucía embark on a colorful historical journey to explore the lives of iconic Latinas, such as Celia Cruz, Frida Kahlo, and Zoe Saldaña, among others, who have had a significant impact on history and serve as an inspiration to new generations. Canela Deportes will premiere 'Historias de Leyendas: Javier Zanetti,' an exclusive conversation between the football legend known worldwide as 'Pupi' and renowned journalist and commentator Luis Omar Tapia. Other highlights of Canela Deportes for 'Orgullo Latino' include 'Boxeo al Día: Juan Manuel Márquez,' in which the famous Mexican 'Dinamita' analyzes the current state of world boxing alongside other figures in ProBox TV; and 'One-on-One: Adriana Monsalve,' a lively conversation with Monsalve that highlights how she has achieved all her career goals and is an inspiration for women who want to dedicate their lives to sports journalism.
On Canela Music, 'Premios+' celebrates Latin music artists nominated during this award season. The 'Hits Latinos' collection will offer the audience the opportunity to celebrate their Latin roots with a tribute to legendary Latin artists such as Ana Bárbara and Cuban singer-songwriter Amaury Gutiérrez, among others. 'El Pop Quiz: Somos Hispanos' will feature a fun series of questions and answers initiated by Argentine actress and singer Celeste Sanazi and more Latin artists.
