A Glimpse into the Future: Miami City Ballet at Works & Process
Los Angeles, California (January 16, 2025)- On January 25th, Works & Process at the Guggenheim invites you to experience the birth of two new ballets before they premiere at Miami City Ballet this spring. Get a first look at Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's Carmen, a modern reimagining of the classic tale set to the music of Georges Bizet and newly commissioned music by Juan Pablo Acosta. You'll also witness excerpts from Pam Tanowitz's Coincident Dances, a captivating duo set to the music of Jesse Montgomery. This special event offers a unique glimpse into the creative process, with members of the creative team, including company dancers, participating in a discussion moderated by Jerome Robbins Dance Division Curator Linda Murray.
Pam Tanowitz's Coincident Dances will have its world premiere in MCB's "Winter Mix" program from February 14 to March 9, while Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's Carmen will debut from April 25 to May 4. Miami City Ballet is a renowned company with a diverse roster of dancers and a repertoire of over 130 works.
